CONFIRMED: Multiple outlets reported the customer notices. Check the notice for your own account entity.
The date people remember is not always the date that costs them money. Binance France customers face reported account closures on December 31, 2026. But assets left on the platform begin incurring maintenance fees from November 29, according to Crypto Briefing and Cointelegraph. Waiting for the year-end deadline could therefore be an expensive interpretation of the notice.
The reported monthly charge is 0.025% of the remaining balance, with a minimum of 10 USDC. On a small residual balance, that floor matters much more than the percentage. Crypto Briefing’s account of customer communications says users should complete withdrawals before November 29 to avoid the charges rather than assuming December is the only date to watch.

The reports concern Binance France and affected customer accounts. They should not be stretched into a claim that every Binance account worldwide is closing. Jurisdiction, account entity and individual communications matter. Anyone reading a broad social headline should verify their own account notice through the official application before drawing conclusions about available services.
Crypto Briefing linked the wind-down to the transition to the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets framework and the French entity’s authorization position. Cointelegraph independently reported the closure and fees from user communications. We have not inspected every customer’s email or certified that all cases are identical. That is a sensible limit, not a reason to bury the reported dates.
This is also a fertile setup for impersonation. An urgent withdrawal deadline gives fake support accounts a ready-made story. Do not send a recovery phrase to anyone offering to speed up an exit, and do not treat a social-media reply as an authenticated service channel. The verified reporting turns the closure whisper into a concrete operational story. Its practical lesson is less glamorous than the regulatory debate: read the fee clock, check the correct legal entity and use the official withdrawal route. The first deadline is the one worth taking seriously.
